About The Bowery Ballroom

The Bowery Ballroom is a live music venue on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, housed in a 1929 building originally built as a shoe store just before the Wall Street crash. It opened as a concert venue in 1998 and holds about 575 people. Known for its excellent acoustics and sightlines, Rolling Stone named it "the best club in America" in 2013. Acts including R.E.M., Radiohead, Coldplay and the Strokes have played there, and Patti Smith held New Year's Eve residencies on its stage for fourteen consecutive years.
