Join us for a fascinating conversation with Pia Rönicke and a reading of Ursula K. Le Guin’s thought-provoking work. In the final week of The Drifters’ Archive, Pia will guide us through her remarkable exhibition, showcasing over twenty years of narratives that challenge colonial and capitalist narratives that seek to confine life.

Her projects weave together various media and stretch across timelines, celebrating the relentless spirit of feminist and community resistance. One of her standout pieces, Bordered, presented at Fuxia, is a fragmented tale of Silvia, an enigmatic character who has disappeared. As she traverses the forest, Silvia appears to have forsaken society and its relentless expectations.

At the conclusion of this film, Pia will share a glossary featuring literary, visual, and architectural references that influenced her research, including Ursula K. Le Guin's impactful story The Author of the Acacia Seeds, which explores the potential of studying nonhuman languages.

The Drifters’ Archive at Fuxia 2 is co-curated by Elena Tzotzi, with support from Malmö Stad, Region Skåne, the Danish Arts Foundation, and Knud Højgaards Fond. The exhibition continues at SIGNAL (Monbijougatan 17H, 211 53 Malmö) until June 14.
