
GovBird: Music & Mutual Aid Fundraiser on Governors Island!
Join the Glass Clouds Ensemble for the BlueBird Concerts on Governors Island! Enjoy an afternoon filled with multi-genre music in a beautiful community arts salon.
🎤 Experience the sounds of nature through music, featuring a lineup of singer-songwriters, jazz artists, and original compositions, hosted by singer-composer Azalea Twining.
All donations from the BlueBird Concerts will support local community organizations and mutual aid efforts. Bring your friends, enjoy great music, and learn about sustainability initiatives on Governors Island! If possible, please donate in advance on Luma or bring cash. 😊
Donations will benefit Earth Matter NY, a community compost organization and small farm located on Governors Island.
Venue
The Glass Clouds House (Building 14, Nolan Park) is a cozy community arts space featuring comfortable seating, art and sound installations, and air conditioning! Stay after the concert for light refreshments and to explore the exhibits on display.
Governors Island is just a short ferry ride from Manhattan and Brooklyn. It's a fantastic place to spend a weekend day, rain or shine, with plenty of art exhibits, bike paths, and food trucks!
Organizations
- Glass Clouds Ensemble is an Organization in Residence with Governors Island Arts, hosting free music programming on weekends throughout the summer.
- BlueBird Concerts is a benefit concert series that supports local mutual aid and direct distribution efforts through multi-hour, multi-genre performances in NYC.
- Earth Matter NY is a community compost organization and farm on Governors Island, managed by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers. They process food scraps, donate compost and produce across the five boroughs, and lead local sustainability education efforts.
