Tour de Panne (22km)

Join us for an exciting hike along the beautiful coast! 🏖️ We’ll kick off early on Sunday to beat the heat and skip the crowds on the train. The first part of our adventure will take us through the scenic dunes towards France. 🌾

Our halfway point is the charming coastal village of Bray-Dunes, where we’ll take a well-deserved lunch break. After refueling, we’ll make our way back to De Panne along the beach, ending our hike with a refreshing beer or a delightful ice cream. 🍦🍻

Important Details:

• Limited Spots: Please register responsibly! Only sign up if you intend to join, and inform us as soon as you can’t make it.
• Pace: We aim for an average speed of around 5 km/h.
• Terrain: Expect mainly unpaved roads; I haven’t tested the track in advance, so be prepared for possible surprises!

👉 Meeting Point: We'll meet at De Panne railway station at 10h08. If you're coming from Brussels-Central, take train IC 3630 towards De Panne at 7h45. I’ll board the train from Ghent, so let's find each other in the front car. 🚆

👉 Train Tickets: Remember to get a return ticket to De Panne! 🏞️

👉 Back to Brussels: There’s a direct train back to Brussels every hour.

• Distance: Approximately 22km
• Elevation Gain: A few sandy dunes
• Net Walking Time: About 5 hours
• Weather: Currently looks great! 🌞 If bad weather arises, we may need to cancel last minute, but we’ll keep you posted through the Meetup website and email.

What to Bring:

• Comfortable hiking clothes & shoes
• Rain gear (just in case!) 🌧️
• Water + snacks for breaks 💧🍏
• Sun cream ☀️
• Compeed for blisters 🩹
• A good spirit and love for adventure!
