Art-tastic Saturdays: Animals in Art

Join us for Art-tastic Saturdays every first Saturday of the month! Dive into a world of creativity and fun with activities suitable for all ages inspired by animals in art.

🌟 Event Highlights:

• Welcome Table: Kick off your day at our Welcome Table in the Hawks Pavilion! Pick up your program and map, learn about membership opportunities, upcoming programs, and accessibility resources.
• 📚 Out & About Storytime with Omaha Public Library at 11 am.
• 🎶 Live Music: At 12 pm, enjoy a performance by Nebraska Crossroads Music Festival musicians, Oscar Rios Pohirieth and Amado Espinoza, showcasing Andean musical traditions.
• 🦙 Live Animal Presentation: Join Austen Hill from the Papio-Missouri River NRD at 1 pm to explore Nebraska native animals and their habitats.
• 🌼 Garden Art Cart: Participate in our drop-in activity, Pollinator Pledge Seed Packs, in the Discovery Garden with Mi’oux Stabler, learning about plant and pollinator connections.
• 🎨 Create Your Own Art: Work with teaching artist Therese Straseski and explore your inner artist!
• ✏️ Slow Down & Sketch: Take a moment to sketch in the galleries or visit our Art Cart station to engage with hands-on materials.
• 🤫 Quiet Space: The Founder’s Room is available as a quiet space for participants.
• 📸 Artwork Exhibition: Enjoy Through the Lens: American Photographs from the Carter Collection—free for everyone today!
• 🍽️ Café & Shop: The Café provides refreshments for purchase, and the Shop features beautiful art items for all ages.
• 🤝 Interactive Space: Visit Art Works, an interactive area with nine different art activity stations (children must be accompanied by adults).
