ArtSoundCulture: The KindHaus Arts Programme, Soft Launch
Saturday 25th July, 11am–1pm
For this Saturday we are pleased to have:
Artist, jeweller and arts educator Max Marshall-Kalp will be leading a tote bag workshop for all abilities. Myth and folklore often feature in Max's work, using symbolism to tell personal stories and the histories of local communities. Making art accessible is an important aspect of Max's practice which he facilitates through hands on creative workshops with adults and children. Using fabric pens, paint and stencils, families visiting Kindhaus will be able to create illustrated bags drawing on comic and cartoon influences.
Violinist and educator Poppy McGhee is passionate about bringing joy to students at the very beginning of their musical journey. She has a thriving private teaching studio based in North London, and founded holiday camp, Vivace Violins. Poppy is also head of junior provision at Discovery Strings and teaches for Arpeggione viola courses. She was awarded a Diana award in 2021 for charity work and fundraising for the Amber Trust. For Kindhaus, Poppy will be leading sessions in age-appropriate 15–20-minute slots.
On the day there will be musical activities and plenty of craft for those drawn to a different kind of making. Face painting by FAFF.
Complementary snacks and drinks on the day.
Drop in any time between 11am and 1pm.
Created in collaboration with Hackney based Arts Producer, Rebecca.
