Audio Buffer London
Welcome to Audio Buffer London—your monthly gathering for audio developers and creative technologists! We're here to bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world audio product development. 🎛️
Hosted by MTUK and led by Sinan Bokesoy (sonicLAB / sonicPlanet), this event is designed for anyone involved in developing software-based music tools. Whether you’re a music tech student, composer, sound designer, or creative technologist, you’ll find your place here! 🌐
In a time of online isolation, we provide a vibrant physical environment for networking and testing out unique ideas.
Session Theme: "The System as an Instrument"
During Session #04, we will delve into systemic interactions within your custom music ecosystems. Explore generative processes for event sequencing and spatial performance.
Guest Presenters:
- Nick Rothwell (Project Cassiel) will take us on a retrospective of controllerism over 30 years, from MIDI processing on an old Mac to modern live coding. Get ready for an insightful discussion on systemic interactions, showcasing Khyal Geometries—a Clojure-based live coding environment.
- Benji Fox, artist and Head of Audio Visual at the Royal Academy of Arts, will present polybuild, a cybernetic spatial synthesizer that revolutionizes how sound interacts with space. Experience real-time improvisation with his innovative sound techniques!
Round Table Discussion:
Join us for an engaging round table where we’ll open the floor to collective exploration and discussion. Bring your questions and experiences as we tackle the complexities of generative music ecosystems and custom controller design. Let’s innovate together!
