Balloon Museum’s Inaugural Exhibition, DAYDREAM, AIR BECOMES ART
✨ Immerse yourself in the world of inflatable art at the Balloon Museum's first permanent U.S. location, housed in the historic TIN BUILDING in Seaport! The INAUGURAL EXHIBITION, titled DAYDREAM, AIR BECOMES ART, invites visitors to escape into a whimsical, dreamlike realm where you can touch, explore, and connect with the art around you.
At the heart of this exhibition lies the acclaimed performance artist MARINA ABRAMOVIć’s installation, Snowy/Windy/Spring on Planet Z — a mesmerizing creation that introduces visitors to an extraterrestrial landscape filled with inflatable grass and swirling artificial snow.
Other remarkable works on display include:
- Martin Creed’s Half the Air in a Given Space: A transparent room filled with hundreds of blue balloons that effectively “contain” half of the air inside.
- Alex Schweder’s Her Joy: An enchanting, rising and deflating mirror ball.
- Karina Smigla-Bobinski’s ADA: A helium-filled sphere spiked with charcoal that floats freely throughout the space.
- Hyperstudio’s Invisible Ballet: A tantalizing and unstable choreography of airborne spherical chrome balloons.
This exhibition promises to be a delightful adventure for art lovers and an exciting experience for children too! The Balloon Museum welcomes guests of all ages, ensuring a truly extraordinary outing for the whole family. 📅
