🌿 Bank Holiday Picnic at Holland Park + Design Museum Visit

Before September gets busy again, join us for a relaxed afternoon of inspiration, good conversations, and fresh air.

It's a chance to reconnect after the summer, reflect on a scorching few months across Europe, share your plans for the rest of the year, explore jobs and volunteering opportunities, and spark new collaborations. Let's see if we can leave having launched at least one—big or small.

📅 Monday 31 August

12:00 pm – Meet inside the Design Museum, by the main entrance, for a free visit to the Design Researchers in Residence: Mineral exhibition.

⏱️ The exhibition visit will last around 45–60 minutes before we head to Holland Park.

1:00 pm – Picnic in Holland Park. You're very welcome to join us directly for the picnic if you can't make the museum visit.

🚶 The walk from the museum to the picnic spot takes around 10 minutes.

Afterwards – Optional walk around Holland Park for anyone who'd like to continue the afternoon.

Good to know
🌱 Both the museum visit and the picnic are free.
✅ Registration is encouraged so we know roughly how many people to expect.
🥗 Please bring your own picnic, plus at least one thing to share if you can.
🫙 Let's try to keep the picnic as low-waste as possible: homemade food is more than welcome. Please bring a reusable water bottle and, if you'd like a hot drink, a reusable coffee or tea cup.
🌾 If you're bringing homemade food to share, please label any common allergens where possible.
🌦️ We'll keep an eye on the weather. If rain is forecast, we'll let everyone know in advance whether the event will be cancelled or moved to an indoor Plan B.
☀️ In the unlikely event of very low registrations, we may also cancel the event to keep logistics manageable.
⏰ Running late? No problem—feel free to join us directly at the picnic from 1:00 pm onwards.
