The name comes from a childhood memory of Williams’ father recording a live song onto a cassette and placing it into his grandfather’s casket as it was lowered into the ground. That image still lingers in his songwriting, where themes of loss, addiction, heartbreak, and recovery meet flashes of humor, resilience, and the will to keep moving forward.Williams lives in Los Angeles and earned his MFA in Poetry from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop in 2024.
