About the Performance:
‘Earth Emotions’ features a deeply moving program combining music and spoken word, guiding listeners from disconnection to connection with nature. The performance includes compositions by the Bowerbird Collective, featuring:

• Simone Slattery on violin
• Anthony Albrecht on cello
• Narration by Prof. Glenn Albrecht, an environmental philosopher returning to his home state of WA.

Prof. Albrecht introduces new terms for our emotional responses to the Earth, empowering us to envision a harmonious future. The performance transitions from negative emotions like ‘solastalgia’ to positive ones such as ‘soliphilia’, ultimately leading to a collective vision of the ‘Symbiocene’.

About the Performers:
The Bowerbird Collective creates art for nature and has received international acclaim. Their ARIA-nominated albums have topped charts, and they have performed at prestigious festivals worldwide.

Prof. Glenn A. Albrecht is a renowned environmental philosopher, known for his work on the emotional states connected to the Earth. His book, Earth Emotions, was published in 2019 and has inspired many in the arts and academia.
