Frekvence

This project reveals the often invisible physical effects and internal reactions of the body during performance. It explores the complex relationship between body, mind, and technology, providing a stimulating and intense experience for both the audience and the artist.

Frequency touches on the physical reactions of the body and emotions that respond to external and internal stimuli.

What happens when we feel nothing at all? When everything is frozen and emotions disappear? And what about when we go through extreme physical and emotional roller coasters and have no idea where
we will end up? Is there a difference between what we see and what is actually happening inside our bodies?

These themes are based on the performer's personal experiences, which the audience will have the opportunity to glimpse and experience her inner and outer world together with her. In Frequency, Betka Tichá uses technology that monitors bodily functions—she measures her heart rate directly during the performance on the ground, but also while performing aerial acrobatics. The data obtained from her body is connected in real time with sound and lights that react to her physical and mental state.

The entire performance is thus fully synchronized with her body, creating an intimate and dynamic picture of human perception and emotions.
