
Half-day Silent Illumination Practice Retreat with Guo Gu
Nalandabodhi Seattle is thrilled to welcome guest teacher Guo Gu for a transformative Sunday experience! Join us for a public dharma talk on Chan: The Practice of Wonderment followed by a half-day retreat focusing on the beautiful practice of silent illumination (默照 mòzhào).
Schedule 📅
- 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Open meditation & Dharma talk
- 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM: Half-day retreat with alternating periods of sitting (~30 min) and walking/movement/stretching (~15 min)

About the Teacher 🌟
Guo Gu (Dr. Jimmy Yu) is a prominent figure in the Buddhist community, founding both the Tallahassee Chan Center and the socially engaged organization Dharma Relief. He is also a professor at Florida State University and a disciple of the late Master Sheng Yen. Guo Gu has authored several significant works, including The Essence of Chan and Silent Illumination.
