Join us for an enchanting evening with the Hilary Hawke Trio at Sunny’s Bar! 🎶 Experience the magic from 8-10 PM as we celebrate the birthdays of both Ross and Hilary!
About Hilary:
Based in New York City for 18 vibrant years and originally hailing from Upstate New York, Hilary has won over audiences with her original sound. She performs alongside the talented guitarist Ross Martin and the rising fiddler Camie Howes.
In July 2025, Hilary released her latest album, Lift Up This Old World, an 11-track collection rooted in bluegrass and old-time traditions. 2024 saw the debut of her first instrumental album, Lilygild, a collaborative gem with guitarist Reed Stutz. That year also marked her composition of a full-length neo-classical album, Open the Doors, with talented duo Ola & Claude Aldous. As Hilary beautifully puts it, "I decided I wasn’t going to try to fit into a box, but to bring the music I hear inside my head and fingers into the world." 🎼
Currently, Hilary enriches the Music Performance faculty at Columbia University, leading the Bluegrass Ensemble and nurturing her private studio of guitar/banjo students. Her journey through various beloved projects and string bands such as the Wild Goats, Dubl Handi, and M Shanghai Stringband has shaped her artistry as a songwriter and performer.
She shines on stage at festivals and venues nationwide and is a proud member of The Brigideens, an Irish-Americana band led by the renowned fiddler Eileen Ivers. Hilary also had the honor of being the original banjoist for the Tony Award-winning revival of Oklahoma! on Broadway in 2019 and has participated in numerous other Broadway productions, including Steve Martin’s Bright Star and Sufjan Stevens’ Illinoise. 🏆
