Join us for Initiation to Accompaniment at the End-of-Life, a one-day intensive training program designed for anyone interested in the profound journey of supporting others through life's most challenging moments. Whether you're looking to support a loved one, work as a professional in social, healthcare, educational, or therapeutic fields, or pursue your own personal growth, this program will deepen your understanding of compassionate accompaniment.
Training Insights
Our program draws from the expertise of a dedicated team experienced in death, dying, and end-of-life care, blending contemporary knowledge with ancestral techniques while respectfully engaging with spirituality.
Meet Your Facilitators
This enriching course is led by:
- Marisela Tachinquin (Psychologist and Gerontologist)
- Elvira Perez (Professor of Mental Health and Digital Technology at the University of Nottingham)
Both are esteemed members of the Spanish Cooperative El Arte del Buen Vivir and experts in Accompaniment by Metta Hospice Foundation.
Course Structure
The training consists of three core pillars:
- Presence: Learn the fundamental principles of mindful accompaniment, address internal obstacles, and engage in practical exercises to enhance your presence.
- Compassion: Develop a better understanding of compassion and self-compassion, distinguish them from empathy and sympathy, and practice exercises that prevent emotional exhaustion while supporting others.
- Transcendence: Discover how spirituality and transcendence can transform perspectives on pain and suffering, supporting the development of compassionate communities.
Closure & Integration
At the end of the course, participants will have the opportunity to consolidate their personal vision of accompaniment and create an implementation plan that embodies a deeper connection with those they support, fostering a nurturing presence.

- Materials: The course includes essential learning materials and certification upon completion of 8 hours of training.
- Meals: Lunch and refreshments will be provided, and there is free parking available on-site.
- Building Access: Enter through the entrance facing the lake.
- Accommodation: For those requiring lodging, we recommend the Jubilee Conference Centre Hotel.
