Join us for an engaging discussion exploring one of the most fascinating questions in language education and linguistics: Is language learned or acquired?

We are delighted to welcome guest speaker Jan Edwards Dormer, EdD, who earned her Doctorate in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and Education from the University of Toronto. Drawing from her 35 years of experience, Dr. Dormer will explore the differences between language learning and language acquisition, examine current research, and invite us to think critically about how people develop language.

Whether you're a language learner, teacher, student, or simply curious about how humans acquire language, we hope you join us! Come with your questions, curiosity, and a willingness to explore ideas together. We look forward to seeing you there!
