Jim's illustrious career began with Buffalo Springfield, where he played bass before forming Poco with Richie Furay, pioneering the country rock genre. After recording three successful albums with Poco, he returned to his roots in music production.

In 1970, a collaboration with an unknown Kenny Loggins led to the creation of the legendary duo Loggins & Messina. Over seven years, they released eight hit albums, selling over 16 million copies and solidifying their status as one of rock's most successful duos.
