Jonathan Ramirez & Skeptemistic

Jonathan Ramirez & Skeptemistic will perform at Jazz Dock.

The band, formed around singer, guitarist and songwriter Jonathan Ramirez Garcia, focuses mainly on soul, funk and pop music. With a new and fresh take on these genres, the project has already established itself on the Prague scene. Jonathan Ramirez was born in Baja California, Mexico and at the age of 11 his family moved to Southern California, USA where Jonathan grew up in a melting pot of cultures and exposed to different genres of music. Here he joined the gospel choir at Good Samaritan Evangelical Church, with which he participated in various festivals and competitions.

Jonathan has always gravitated towards acoustic guitar and piano in addition to singing. When he met Yvonne Sanchez, he realized his life was about to change forever. When Yvonne signed with Warner Music in 2008, they began collaborating on original material that was released as an album under the title My Garden. This album achieved many nominations and awards at the Angel Music Awards. Jonathan Ramirez has also collaborated in the past with many personalities of the music scene as a singer, instrumentalist and composer (Ondřej Pivec, Robert Balzar, Klára Vytisková, Roman Pokorný, Yvonne Sanchez Latin Quartet, B/Y Organism and others).
