Meetup Digital Freedom - SEDI & KERI Protocol and eIDAS-based EUDI Wallet

Über die Veranstaltung

Join us for an insightful meetup focusing on the comparison between SEDI and the KERI Protocol, alongside the eIDAS-based European Digital Identity (EUDI) Wallet! 🌐

Organized by the Permissionless Society Meetup Group and backed by the Linux Foundation Decentralized Trust (LFDT), this gathering promises a deep dive into the evolving world of digital identity.

What to Expect:

  • SEDI: A model created in Utah advocating for State-Endorsed Digital Identity, empowering citizens while maintaining control over their own digital identity.
  • KERISuite: A free, open-source software forming the backbone for a robust, self-managed, and verifiable digital identity.
  • eIDAS: The established European legal framework for electronic identification and trust services ensuring a high level of security.
  • EUDI Wallet: Part of eIDAS 2.0, this wallet enables citizens and institutions across Europe to confidently store and share their digital credentials.

Connections Between These Concepts:

SEDI reflects a distinct policy approach to digital identity seen in specific US states, while eIDAS and EUDI focus on EU-wide laws. KERI/KERISuite stands out as a technical framework that promotes privacy, decentralization, and verification, highlighting differing emphases: SEDI on individual sovereignty and state support, versus eIDAS/EUDI's focus on interoperability and legal acknowledgment throughout the EU.

Meet Our Speakers:

  • Henk van Cann: Introductory talk on SEDI and the KERI Protocol.
  • Upcoming Speaker: A presentation on eIDAS/EUDI characteristics will be announced shortly.
