Monarch Mayhem: Monarch Butterfly Tagging

Join us for an exciting afternoon of discovery as we explore the fascinating world of monarch butterflies and their incredible migration journey! 🌍 Monarchs undertake one of the most remarkable migrations on Earth, traveling up to 2,500 miles over four generations from Pennsylvania to their overwintering grounds in the mountains of central Mexico.

Learn about monarch biology, ecology, and the important role community scientists play in tracking these iconic pollinators. Participants will have the opportunity to help net, tag, and release monarch butterflies encountered during the program, contributing valuable data to ongoing conservation efforts.

What to Expect:

• Explore one of Greenfield’s restored meadow areas while learning about monarch butterflies and their life cycle.
• Assist with capturing, tagging, and releasing monarchs as conditions allow.
