Mothecombe Gardens
Nestled above the stunning Mothecombe Beach at the mouth of the Erme estuary on the Flete Estate, Mothecombe Gardens offers a picturesque escape. 🌊 With its unique location in a valley shielding it from harsh winds, the garden thrives with tender plants.
Visitors can admire the elegant Mothecombe House, a beautiful Queen Anne-style building enhanced by Sir Edwin Lutyens. 🌿 On the southern front lies a walled garden adorned with Lutyens Terraces, blooming with wisteria, irises, and agapanthus, alongside a lovely lawn bordered with vibrant herbaceous plants.
A lovely door opens to an inviting orchard, underplanted with daffodils, leading to a tranquil camellia walk through the woodland garden. 🌼 Other highlights include a serene bog garden, a charming Garden Cottage, and a second walled garden bursting with rows of lavender and pollinator-friendly flora.
Mothecombe Gardens is also proud to be a RHS partner garden and has recently been awarded for its excellence! 🏆
