🎭 Participant Requirements:
Mandarin-speaking women and nonbinary participants are welcome. Experience in embodied and improvisational practices is beneficial but not mandatory.
🎭 About the Workshop:
This interactive workshop combines a feminist drama therapy board game, poetry, and improvised movement. Participants will start with the body to explore inner roles, storytelling, and collective witness, co-creating an experimental theatre experience centered around mother tongue, the maternal body, and self-becoming.
🎭 About the Artist:
Xinyue Zhang, a game designer from Huludao, Liaoning, is currently pursuing her MA in Drama Therapy at New York University. Rooted in Chinese culture, her work combines role theory, role method, poetry, and improvisational practices. She highlights the challenges and potentials of neurodivergent children and Asian women while promoting decolonizing approaches in theatre and drama therapy education.
