About Event
Are you not a fan of serious hold’em tournaments?
Good.
This is nickel‑ante, not-serious poker — a small, curated gathering for thoughtful tech people who want something more natural than a typical networking event.
The goal isn’t to win chips.
It’s to blend conversation with a shared activity in a way that makes connection easy.
What it feels like
No tournament structure
No pressure to play well
Beginner-friendly by design
You’ll sit at a table and let things unfold.
People laugh.
Side conversations take over.
The game fades in and out of focus.
That doesn’t happen at a poker tournament.
The idea
I host gatherings like this fairly often.
It’s a simple dynamic that works: low stakes → relaxed people → real connection
People tend to stay longer than they planned.
Who it’s for
Builders, founders, engineers, and curious tech humans
People who prefer conversation over competition
Anyone a little tired of typical tech events
What to expect
Casual, nickel-ante poker
Set tables (no rotation)
Light refreshments
A relaxed, conversational room
Registration
This is a curated, approval-based event.
When you apply, we may ask:
LinkedIn or what you’re working on
Have you played poker before?
Are you registering with a friend?
We’re simply aiming to create the right kind of room.
No panels. No pitches. No pressure.
Just cards, conversation, and people being a little more human than usual.
