A guided tour of the exhibition 1939–2021: The End of the Black-and-White Era will offer insight into the diverse methods and strategies artists used—during one of the darkest periods in modern history—to come to terms with their own experiences and to reflect on the broader reality of wartime violence, totalitarianism, and the threat to humanity. Together with art historian Karel Dudr, we will focus on works by prominent artists such as Oskar Kokoschka, Toyen, and Alén Diviš.
A tour as part of the Art Up Close series. Participants will explore a selected topic in greater detail. They will focus on specific parts of the collections and examine them more closely. Each tour will offer a new perspective on a particular topic and place it within a broader context, helping visitors better understand the whole.
