Join us for a unique writing experience where we explore the art of copying to deepen our understanding of great literature! ✍️

Hunter S. Thompson hand-typed The Great Gatsby to grasp the essence of writing a great American novel.
Ben Franklin memorized essays he admired, comparing them to the originals.
Vincent Van Gogh purchased 600 woodblocks to replicate Utagawa Hiroshige's work.

Copying, rather than imitating, allows us to truly feel and think about the creations we appreciate.

What to Expect:

Bring a piece of writing you enjoy, copy it from memory, and then compare it to the original. We’ll share insights and comments from this exercise at the end of the session.
