Join us for an immersive Sewing Social experience designed specifically for absolute beginners! 🌟 This workshop will provide you with a solid introduction to sewing without feeling overwhelmed. You'll walk away with a unique, wearable piece—an upcycled oversized shirt transformed into an everyday garment.
✂️ What to Bring
- Your own second-hand shirt for upcycling (preferably a checked, oversized men's or women's cotton shirt in your favorite color and pattern).
- All necessary materials and equipment will be supplied, except for the shirt. If you’re unable to find a shirt in time, there will be a limited selection available for purchase during the workshop, though sizes and patterns may vary.
💡 Skills You Will Learn:
- Proper machine threading technique
- How to wind and load a bobbin
- Safe needle changing methods
- Overview of different stitch types and their applications
- Confidence-building practice with scrap fabric
- Step-by-step guidance on the shirring technique
- Creation of your final upcycled piece
As a bonus, attendees will gain access to discounted Walk-In Sessions to practice your newly acquired skills independently once they start (more info coming soon)!
