QGFHA Carpenter Cup 2026 - Festival of Irish Sport

Join us at the Carpenter Cup, a thrilling 7-a-side Gaelic Football and Hurling tournament at Watsons Oval! 🎊

The event will feature incredible men's and ladies' teams from Cairns, Port Douglas, Townsville, Brisbane, and Gold Coast showcasing their skills on two pitches.

Schedule of Events:

• 8:00 AM: First game of the tournament kicks off! 🏐
• 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Hurling and Camogie group stages commence. 🏑
• 1:00 PM: Live music from Aoife Turas Music to liven up the atmosphere! 🎶
• 4:40 PM: Cairns RSL Pipes and Drums performing; watch the teams march onto the pitch for the finals. 🥁
• 4:50 PM - 6:00 PM: Ladies’ and Men’s Gaelic Football Finals! 🏆

This tournament is held in memory of Nicholas Carpenter, whose contributions were crucial to the establishment and success of the Queensland Gaelic Football and Hurling Association (QGFHA). 🌟
