Race the Red Canoe & Kayak Races

Join us for the Race the Red—an exciting day on the water where kayakers and canoers of all skill levels are invited to participate! 🌊

🏁 Event Details:

• Categories:
  • Canoe: Solo, Male Team, Female Team, Co-ed Team
  • Solo Kayak: Male, Female
  • Tandem Kayak: Male Team, Female Team, Co-ed Team
  • Non-traditional watercraft: rowboats, hydrobikes, SUPs, and more!

📏 Race Distances:

Choose from three flag races—1.5, 3.5, or 6 miles. All participants will paddle upstream to a designated turnaround point, grab a prize, and then make their way back downstream! 🚣‍♂️

🍽️ Food & Rentals:

• Canoe/Kayak Rental: Just $15, including paddles and life jackets.
• Free Meal from Heart 'n' Soul Community Café available for all registered racers! Don't forget to order your meal by July 6th at 4 PM. Thanks to Applied Digital for this generous sponsorship! 🍽️

💲 Entry Fees:

• Early Bird Fee: $20/person
• After June 29: $25/person

🌦️ Weather Policy:

In case of bad weather (e.g., lightning, high winds), the race may be postponed. Check emails or the River Keepers Facebook page for updates.

🌟 Additional Activities:

• Family and friends can bike/run/walk along the Fargo Park District’s trails to watch the paddlers.
• Enjoy fun activities like a photo booth and buoy toss at the start/finish.
• Participants are encouraged to decorate their vessels—just make sure everything is secured! 🎨
