Race the Train 2026 - Bury to Rawtenstall as seen on Yesterday TV episode 5

Join us for the exhilarating Race the Train 2026 in partnership with East Lancashire Railway!

🕒 Start Time: 11:00 (Registration from 09:00 - 10:25)
📍 Start Location: Bury Train Station
🏁 Finish Location: Rawtenstall Station
📏 Distance: Approximately 11 miles

This unique race kicks off at Bury train station, signaled by the whistle of the steam train! Runners will traverse scenic trails alongside the railway and the Irwell River. The steam train will set off south to catch the runners, making it a thrilling point-to-point race!

👥 Friends and family can encourage runners aboard the train—purchase your concessionary train tickets at Mad Bull Events. Note: The online ticket sales for the train will close at TBC.

👟 Entry Fee: £32.65 (not including train tickets; these must be bought separately)
🏅 All finishers receive a T-Shirt and Bespoke Medal. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers as well as age category winners!

🧊 Two water stations will be available along the route—please use them responsibly!
