SCAN 50th Anniversary Gala

Join us in celebrating 50 remarkable years of SCAN's journey! 🎉 For five decades, SCAN members have explored South Carolina's landscapes, documented its natural history, and shared their discoveries. The 50th Anniversary Gala is a momentous occasion to honor this legacy and look forward to the next generation of naturalists.

📍 Location: South Carolina State Museum, 301 Gervais St, Columbia, SC 29201
🌟 Attire: Bespoke Nature – Wear your favorite or most creative nature-inspired outfit!

What to Expect:

• 12pm - 2pm: Explore the museum at your leisure with optional behind-the-scenes tours (museum entry included in your ticket!).
• 2pm - 4pm: Presentations, including a special keynote by Josh Arrants, titled "What It Means To Be a Naturalist: Lessons and Legacy".
• 4pm - 5:30pm: Continue to explore the exhibits, catch an impromptu presentation in the SC Wings of Wonder Exhibit, or take another behind-the-scenes tour.
• 5:30pm - 7:30pm: Enjoy a light dinner and socializing with fellow naturalists. 🍽️

This celebration includes complimentary museum entry, exhibits, historical highlights, and a custom-themed light dinner by Scott Hall Catering.
