Shut Up & Write!™ West LA - Cafe Laurent - Mar Vista

Join us for an hour (or up to ninety minutes) of uninterrupted writing! ✍️

Whatever you're working on—be it fiction, non-fiction, poetry, memoir, PR, script writing, or anything else—join fellow writers at Cafe Laurent, located at 12034 Venice Blvd., Mar Vista, Los Angeles. Enjoy writing in our cozy table on the beautiful, covered patio. We start at 10:00 AM sharp, so arrive a few minutes early to grab a delicious treat or breakfast and get settled. We'll stop writing at 11:00, 11:15, or 11:30 AM (depending on attendees' schedules), and everyone is welcome to share a few sentences if they choose, without any intro or explanation.

SCHEDULE:

• 9:50 AM - Intros / Greetings / Get Settled
• 10:00 AM - Timer starts: write for the pre-determined time
• Finish - Share your sentences, chat, or continue writing!

Being late or leaving early is totally okay; there’s no need to apologize! We are a casual group and are happy you’ll be with us. No need to RSVP through Meetup—just show up!

NOTE: There is no internet access at the cafe! Be prepared to use your personal hotspot or another web connection. The only time our Meetup is canceled is on ALL Monday holidays!

Parking is available nearby at the corner of Grand View and Venice, near the post office (which is more expensive than street parking). Please support our hosts by making a purchase. Everything is delicious, the service is superb, and the coffee is perfect. Cafe Laurent is open from 8 AM to 3 PM every day.
