About the Event
It has been a decade since Gies showcased his marathon solo Dance is Ancient at Weld, and the memories are still vivid. Now, we're excited to present a selection of his choreographies, including:

• A collaboration with Manuel Pelmus 🎭
• A tribute to Kurt Jooss's classic The Green Table
• Several additional solos that have graced stages in Sweden and beyond

This event culminates in the premiere of his latest choreography, Dans (Sverige) – solo template version!

About the Work
Tribute – Solo Version was born during the festival Moving in November in 2020 and was designed as a replacement for an earlier piece that couldn't be realized due to the pandemic. This work highlights how every performance is interwoven with the arts of others, while also serving as an invitation for new creations to emerge. As Gies recalls:

"These memories are less about images than the imprints they leave in my body, shaping my dance repertoire."
