SPEAK & SIP: Language Exchange

This time our theme is City Life vs. Countryside — busy streets or quiet villages, public transport or long drives, cafés around the corner or peaceful walks in nature.

We’ll talk about the advantages and disadvantages of both lifestyles, childhood memories of where we grew up, dream places to live, and how different countries balance life in cities and rural areas. From noisy neighbours to starry skies, this theme is perfect for sharing experiences, comparing cultures, and discovering what “home” means to different people.

This edition will be a picnic in the park, so please come prepared: bring a blanket or something to sit on, your own food and drinks, and be ready to sit on the grass.

Instead of tables, we’ll have separate language groups sitting in different spots in the park. Join the group for the language you want to practise, use the conversation questions, and enjoy a relaxed outdoor exchange.

At Speak & Sip, we do things a little differently. There’s structure — but the atmosphere is still relaxed: social, friendly, and focused on actually improving our language skills.
