Stop the Waste. Brunch

Über die Veranstaltung

We start with a lovely brunch and using simple processes and materials we convert food waste into functional products you can take home. The brunch and activity are then paired with a short circular economy training on how to start a regenerative business through transforming waste into an opportunity.

Through this workshop we will explore waste streams to shape a regenerative business around in BCN with the many benefits that come with it from positive environmental and social impact, to cost savings, funding opportunities…
This workshop has 3 parts:
– Brunch: A simple and delicious brunch with ingredients that feature all too regularly on restaurant menus. Tomatoes, eggs, coffee, orange juice(didn’t sell that huh?). The food will be yummy, but we are also here for chatting and networking before we move to our activity. (approx. 30 minutes)
– Waste or Opportunity – exploring materials: Using materials and tools that are easily available transform waste from 4 main ingredients in the brunch: eggshells, tomato peel, orange peel, and used coffee grounds into functional useful products that you can take home. The activity is accompanied by facts and statistics about waste that happens in BCN everyday. This part of the session is crafty, so if this something you enjoy, great! You get to keep the instructions so you can remake these items at home if you choose to. (approx. 1hr)
– Waste or Opportunity – training: We end the session with a short practical training and examples setting criteria to start regenerative businesses in BCN and explore potential opportunities in a discussion about waste that we see around us everyday. (approx. 1hr)
