Sunset to Sunrise: An Overnight Walk

Join us for a unique overnight experience as we embark on a 40-45 km stroll along the beautiful shore of Lake Ontario.

When? Imagine feeling the night air change as the sun begins to rise. This is an open invitation to share that experience and attempt a walk from sunset to sunrise!

👥 Participation: This event is for ages 18 and older.

🚶 The Route:

  • Meeting Point: Union Station GO, then train to Clarkson GO Station.
  • Our journey will start from Water's Edge Park and take us to the R.C. Harris water treatment plant by the beaches for a picturesque sunrise.

📏 Walk Breakdown: 5 legs, averaging 8-10 km each, taking approximately 1.5 to 2 hours with strictly timed food and restroom breaks:

  1. Stop 1: Port Credit (30 mins)
  2. Stop 2: Kipling Ave and Lakeshore Blvd (30 mins)
  3. Stop 3: Queen and Roncesvalles (40 mins)
  4. Stop 4: Front Street & Union Station (40 mins)
  5. Final Stop: RC Harris water treatment plant

🧳 Preparations:
As this is an overnight event, proper preparation is essential. Please consider bringing:

  • Bug spray (Ontario Health approved)
  • Reflective clothing/high visibility gear
  • Appropriate shoes and clothing (layers recommended)
  • Flashlights
  • Water & electrolytes
  • Food/snacks
  • Change of socks
  • Bandages/blister packs
  • Money for food/transportation
  • Charger/power bank
