Tango dance classes with Anahí at La Bruja: beginning and intermediate

Join us for an exciting opportunity to learn tango with the talented Anahí, all the way from Buenos Aires! 💃✨ Anahí brings her deep expertise in tango and culture as a professor at the National University of the Arts. Her classes are not only challenging and active but also super fun!

What to Expect:

• Tango Figures for Social Dancing: Learn the art of lead-follow communication.
• Inclusive Environment: Classes are welcoming to queer, trans, and non-binary individuals, encouraging everyone to lead and follow.

Schedule:

• Wednesdays: July 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th
  • 6:45 PM: Check-in
  • 7:00-8:00 PM: Beginning Tango Class
  • 8:00-8:30 PM: Practica (practice)
  • 8:30-9:30 PM: Intermediate Tango Class
  • 9:30-10:30 PM: Practica (practice)

Class Details:

• Beginners: No experience necessary; you can also watch the intermediate class!
• Intermediate: Designed for those with at least three months (12 classes) of experience.
• Practicas: Included with classes—stay, dance, and ask questions! 🎶

Admission:

• $25: General Admission (single class)
• $15: Student with ID (single class)
• $40: Both classes in one evening (one person)
• Payment accepted via cash or Venmo at the door.

About Anahí:

Anahí Carballo is a master teacher in Argentine Tango and Folklore, with over 20 years of global experience. She is the visionary founder of Estudio Tango Cuir and has directed the historic all-female company Compañia Tango Entre Mujeres. Anahí's accolades include being a Provincial Malambo Championship winner and a semifinalist at the World Tango Championship, along with creating acclaimed shows like Vinculadas and Nuestra historia.

Venue:

The Berkeley City Club is conveniently located just a 10-minute walk from Downtown Berkeley BART. For bike parking, please use the bell at the service entrance to access the back courtyard. Note that there is no parking allowed in the Berkeley City Club lot, but street parking is free after 6:00 PM.
