the Epistemologies of Slop | Art + Tech Exhibition Closing Reception
Join us for the closing reception of The Epistemologies of Slop, a group exhibition at tiat that delves into how meaning, trust, and culture are shaped in the age of algorithmic and AI surfeit.
✨ New artworks and exciting performances (to be announced) will highlight this unique experience!

This exhibition explores slop as more than an aesthetic; it examines it as a social, technical, economic, and psychological condition. While some artworks critique slop, others embrace and aestheticize it, revealing the complex new forms of culture that arise from it.
Through a variety of installations, performances, sculptures, interfaces, and experiments, Epistemologies of Slop prompts us to ask:
- What is slop?
- How can we discern truth or beauty in a world governed by probabilities?
- What possibilities does slopulence create?
- How does labor navigate slopulism?
- Is there hope for a sloptimist?
- Who profits in the slopocene?
- What lies beyond slop?
- Is slop considered art?
Epistemologies of Slop invites you to dwell in the uncertainties of our media futures and to explore how knowledge, culture, and collective reality are fashioned in a world increasingly defined by machines.
