Tuesday Street Skate

Join us for a delightful weekly street skate starting from the Blavatnik School of Government! 🛹

We'll gather at 18:50 and hit the road around 19:05. The route will be determined by the group, with a total distance of approximately 8-10 miles. This skate is designed for intermediate skaters, meaning you should be comfortable with stopping, turning, slowing down, navigating curbs, and riding on varying slopes. Expect a minimum speed of 11 km/h (7.5 mph), and we'll usually skate for 1 to 1.5 hours depending on the group's vibe.

Important Notes:

• Skate at your own risk; this is not a marshalled event.
• Always wear high visibility clothing and protective gear (helmet, wrist guards, knee pads, and elbow pads) to stay safe.
• Bring lights for when it gets dark! 💡
• Be respectful of pedestrians and obey the highway code while skating (similar to cyclists). We'll use cycle paths as much as possible.
• If you're new, comment “first time” and someone will accompany you! 🤝
• Weather: In cases of heavy rain or unsafe conditions, updates will be posted by 17:00 on the same day.
