Evju Quartet is a newly formed band featuring four remarkable musicians who met at the jazz program at the Norwegian Academy of Music. Their sound vibrates between trombone and vibraphone, creating a modern expression filled with rich textures and strong rhythmic drive. With a shared passion for improvised music, the quartet explores the intersection of strong melodic lines and a playful approach to free interplay and dynamics. They draw inspiration from bands and musicians like Dave Holland, Out Of/Into, Marquis Hill, and Wayne Shorter.

Falmende Horisont is an electroacoustic band where synths blend with warm vocals, smooth saxophone tones, and frenetic drumming. The result is a symbiosis of organic flows, where musicians seamlessly transition between light soundscapes, lively free jazz sections, and danceable club beats. Their lyrics explore the love of life, the sunshine days that come and go, and the uncertainty that awaits tomorrow.

Their eclectic expression incorporates elements from folk music, club music, free jazz, and electronica, resulting in a mix of fragile, intense, and melodic moods.

On May 15, Falmende Horisont released their debut album, 'Vektløshet', recorded at TOU in Stavanger. The recording captures raw improvisational moments, crackling synth sounds, and vulnerable stretches where the music truly shines. The band is now embarking on a release tour to Haugesund, Oslo, Trondheim, and Stavanger, where the album can be experienced live.

  • Marie Kvale Vikingstad - Vocals, Electronics
  • Torbjørn Säll - Piano, Keys
  • Maja Jenny Persson - Saxophone
