These days, everyone is monitoring the Situation. You know the feeling we're talking about. You're drowning in information, lonely in your own feed.
We resort to memes because irony gives us relief, at least for a moment.
Beneath the humour, there's something sincere: a genuine desire to participate, to understand, to develop some kind of agency in what is happening. Only this desire has nowhere to go, no room where it can turn into something shared.
REINCANTAMENTO and curator Silvia Russo take care of that room: join us at Unmonitoring the Situation.
Unmonitoring the Situation is a series of public gatherings for humans to meet and talk about living everyday within the Situation.
The first edition takes place on April 30th at Salon am Moritzplatz. On the eve of Workers' Day, our conversation centres on practices of solidarity, mutual aid, and resource sharing at the local level.
Anika Krbetschek guides a collective food ritual built around the 𝓜𝓮𝓽𝓽𝓲𝓰𝓮𝓵, a hedgehog-shaped dish rooted in German working-class culture: an edible exercise in building together to let go of individual intention and trust the shape of collective work.
