About "Blessings" 🌼

Uzoamaka’s miracle baby, Obiefuna, arrives after a series of miscarriages, bringing joy and luck to his family and community. Yet, as Obiefuna grows, he grapples with his identity and the pressures around him—especially when he discovers love in unexpected places. His journey takes a turn when he is sent to a strict boarding school, where he learns to hide his true self amidst the demands of conformity.

This novel intricately weaves the narratives of Obiefuna and Uzoamaka, exploring themes of love and identity in a context that forbids homosexuality. It’s a poignant portrayal of the complexities of familial and societal expectations.

Chukwuebuka Ibeh, a promising young writer from Port Harcourt, Nigeria, has garnered attention for his insightful storytelling and has been praised by noteworthy figures in literature. He is currently pursuing his MFA in Fiction at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.

Join us in celebrating this remarkable work and engaging in heated discussions about literature and life!
