(Volunteer) Free Store in the Park

Join us as the primary volunteer team for the Free Store in the Park, organized by Community Loving! This event is all about bringing together neighbors, organizations, and mutual aid groups to share resources, foster connections, and build a supportive network across the South Bay.

Volunteer Opportunities:

🏢 Storage Unit Crew (Morning)

• ⏰ Time: 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM
• 📍 Location: Storage Unit - 3155 W. El Segundo Blvd., Hawthorne, CA 90250
  • Meet at the Storage Unit
  • Load all donations and supplies into the U-Haul Truck
  • Head to Alondra Park

🏕️ Set-Up Crew

• ⏰ Time: 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM
• 📍 Location: Alondra Park 3850 Manhattan Beach Blvd, Lawndale, CA 90260
  • Unload the U-Haul
  • Set up tents, tables, item booths, clothing racks, etc.
  • Neatly organize and display the free store items to make browsing easy and inviting.

• ⏰ Time: 12:30 PM - 2:45 PM
• 📍 Location: Alondra Park 3850 Manhattan Beach Blvd, Lawndale, CA 90260
  • Check in / Check Out
  • Photographer / Videographer
  • Arts & Crafts Lead
  • Food Donation Booth
  • Free Diaper & Wipes Booth
  • Free Store Helpers
  • Sorting Area Crew

🧹 Clean-Up Crew

• ⏰ Time: 2:30 PM - 3:15 PM
• 📍 Location: Alondra Park 3850 Manhattan Beach Blvd, Lawndale, CA 90260
  • Pack up clothing back into bags
  • Fold tents and tables
  • Pack up items into boxes
  • Load U-Haul
  • Take away bags of trash
  • Tidy up the area (remove litter)

🏢 Storage Unit Crew (Afternoon)

• ⏰ Time: 3:25 PM - 4:00 PM
• 📍 Location: Storage Unit - 3155 W. El Segundo Blvd., Hawthorne, CA 90250
  • Unload U-Haul
  • Move boxes/bags/racks/etc. to the unit
  • Arrange equipment in the unit

As a volunteer-driven organization, we give our volunteers first priority to browse and shop at the Free Store before it opens to the public. Thank you for helping support our community! 🌈
