Gunung Nuang via Pangsun is a tougher trail compared to the one starting from Janda Baik, making it a rewarding hike best suited for intermediate hikers seeking their next challenge or experienced hikers in need of training.
Gunung Nuang is known for its steep sections, river crossings, and lush rainforest. The hike begins with a long stretch of about 5 km of almost flat trail before turning into a steep, unrelenting climb. Expect muddy and humid conditions that will test both stamina and mental strength.
Once you reach the summit, the effort is worth it, offering rewarding views and the chance to meet friendly squirrels 🐿️.
The mountain is the 2nd highest in Selangor at 1,493 meters, part of the Titiwangsa Mountains, following Gunung Semangkok at 1,824 m.
