Founded in 2014 by Kyotaro Miula, Minami Deutsch began their journey performing on the vibrant streets of Tokyo. Since their inception, they have released three albums under the guidance of Guruguru Brain, a local label run by friends. Their entrancing, motorik-driven sound has captivated audiences across Europe and the United States, sharing the stage with notable talent like Damo Suzuki, the former vocalist of the iconic krautrock band CAN.

Their latest album, Fortune Goodies (2022), marks a profound exploration of krautrock's rich heritage. The album embodies Miula's broadened musical perspective achieved after moving from Tokyo to Berlin, offering a distinctive Japanese take on the krautrock encyclopedia. After two successful North American tours in 2024, including supporting Earthless and making a memorable appearance at the Levitation Festival, Minami Deutsch is firmly establishing their voice as a powerhouse in modern kraut and psychedelic music.
