Released in 2026, marking the 250th anniversary of America, Philadelphia’s been good to me showcases one of our nation’s greatest songwriters celebrating his hometown. Kurt Vile describes this album as his ‘bringing it all back home to Philly’ record, stating, "I’m treating it like my last one. I put everything into it. It’s my best vocal record. It’s my best electric guitar record. It’s my most organic record, made in the comfort of my own zone."

Largely self-produced, with contributions from Adam Langellotti, Matthew Jugenheimer, Kyle Spence, Jesse Trbovrich, and Rob Schnapf, the album embodies Vile’s understanding of music as a conversation across time and space. The title track pays homage to his hometown and Tom Petty’s tribute to California.

The energetic track Chance to Bleed features guest spots from Memphis legends Natalie Hoffman and Greg Cartwright, with a music video filmed at Kung Fu Necktie in Philly, featuring a cameo by local icon Schoolly D.

You Don’t Know Cuz It’s My Life is Kurt’s take on a stadium anthem, culminating in a laid-back yet triumphant chant of “I’m from Phil-a-del-phiaaaaaaah!” that you can envision Eagles fans singing along to, Twisted Teas raised high.

This album is a testament to Philadelphia’s constant hitmaker returning to celebrate and represent the City of Brotherly Love, all while sounding more relaxed than ever.
