Toni Wolff zisťuje, že prerobila milióny (verzia Carl)
Toni Wolff realizes she lost millions.
Witty and fresh theatre play with prize-awarded costume design maps the widespread phenomenon of spiritual influencers based and operating on social media. The pioneer of female psychoanalysis, Toni Wolff (1888-1953), a colleague and lover of Gustav Jung, returns to the present. How will she react to the fact that people today pay literally millions for mis-interpretations of her theories?
"To deal with the collective unconscious demands a solid ego consciousness and an adequate adaptation to reality."
"If charlatans earn so much in your country, how much do female scientists earn?" Toni Wolff asks, surprised. A close collaborator of Gustav Jung and author of female archetypes, she arrives in the present day and is shocked by the number of "conspiracy theorists" who, especially on social media, exploit the naivety and vulnerability of women, as well as her teachings. The production by the award-winning group Uhol_92, is a critical analysis of the current trend of transformational mentors, gurus and especially con artists who have literally flooded the internet. After the successful production Humiliated and Bloodthirsty (DOSKY 2022 award in the categories Best Direction and Best Costume), the theatre Uhol_92 takes up the theme of "conspiritualism" as part of its exploration of social and personal vulnerability.
The production was created in parallel in two different stagings of the male roles - performed by Jakub Jablonský (version Carl) and Petr Tilajčík (version Emma). Each version delivers the same story arc, but the optics and associated gender and relationship nuances change with the particular casting. Does the theme of parenting or broken friendships speak to you more? And how will Toni Wolff's story change if she tells it not in the presence of her lover Jung, but his wife Emma? Come see both versions in sequence and you'll get 100% of the artistic intent.
