Ukraine: Voices from the Frontline
Join Beyond Conflict UK for an evening with journalist and documentary filmmaker Jay J.C. Buckley. This event features a live conversation and audience Q&A.
When Russia initiated its full-scale invasion in 2022, many reporters only visited Ukraine briefly. However, Jay remained on the ground for over five years, embedding with frontline units, accompanying civilian medics into bombarded cities, and spending time with families striving to maintain normalcy amidst chaos. His work, drawn from Voices from the Front and Beyond the Rubble, presents a raw and human documentary that transcends the geopolitical narrative surrounding Ukraine.
This evening focuses on the psychological toll of war: exploring its impact on soldiers, medics, and civilians, as well as the responsibilities of those who witness these events.
