Urdu Poetry Workshop: Faiz Ahmed Faiz

Due to popular demand, we're excited to host another Urdu Poetry Workshop session! 🎉
Join us for an interactive exploration of Faiz Ahmed Faiz's poetry, including:

• A brief introduction to Faiz and his poetic influences.
• Analysis of the poem 'mujh se pehli si mohabbat mere mehboob na maang'.

Participants will receive a copy of the poem and are encouraged to interact and interpret it. We'll also discuss the historical context surrounding the poem's creation, offering both a universal and time-specific framework for understanding. 🌍

This workshop will be led by Zahra Halepota, who has an academic background in Anthropology focusing on Indo-Persian literary and visual cultures. Zahra holds a BSc in Anthropology from UCL and a master's in Transcultural Studies from Heidelberg University. With her interdisciplinary focus, she completed a thesis on ecological interpretations of Sindhi poetry and studied Persian literature at Ca Foscari University, Venice. Additionally, she practices Islamic Illumination and Persian miniature painting. 🎨
