Základy dějin umění
Participants have the opportunity to gain a basic understanding of Czech and European art history, learn how to analyze works of art, read texts about art, and sketch architectural elements and diagrams. The National Gallery in Prague has prepared an art history course that is suitable for high school students preparing for university entrance exams, as well as for adults and seniors who want to broaden their cultural horizons.
The course also includes visits to exhibitions at the National Gallery in Prague. Each lesson consists of four lectures, alternating between lessons on art appreciation, architectural morphology, art history theory and historiography, and chapters from art history.
The lectures will be given by art historians, NGP educators, and others.
