
Clay Summer Art Camp - Morning Session
Get your hands in the clay. πΊπ₯ Clay Camp is HOTplate's most beloved camp β and for good reason. Three mornings of total immersion in the world of pottery and clay art for kids ages 6β12. From their first time on the pottery wheel to hand-building functional pieces they'll actually use at home, Clay Camp is where kids discover they're way more talented than they thought. Three days. Six projects. Head-to-toe clay. π‘ Day 1 β Wheel Throwing Introduction Every camper gets time on the pottery wheel β guided by our instructor, they'll learn centering, pulling walls, and creating a piece uniquely their own. One wheel piece selected for kiln firing. Ready for pickup in approximately 2β2.5 weeks. πΊ Day 2 β Hand Building Fundamentals Campers explore hand building techniques β coil building, slab construction, pinch pots β to create functional pieces like bowls, cups, or sculptures. Kiln-fired and glazed, ready for pickup in approximately 2β2.5 weeks. π¨ Day 3 β Glaze & Surface Decoration The finishing touch! Campers work on surface decoration, texture, and glazing techniques β plus a second smaller clay project to round out their Clay Camp collection.
